Ozone Generators are Air Cleaners that Eliminate Odors
Those who have ever shopped for an electronic air cleaner, purifier or ionic air cleaner have done so for good reason -- they want indoor air pollutants removed from their apartments, hotels, homes and places of business.
Most air cleaner products are actually air filters that remove particles like dust and pollen by physically trapping them. However, odor problems and offensive smells are the result of gases and the typical air cleaner will do nothing to remove odors. Gases flow right through even the best HEPA filters. Another type of air purifier is the ionic air cleaner or ionizer, but it is also designed to deal mainly with particles.
So indoor air pollution results from either particles or gases. The best air cleaner to eliminate odors and gases is an ozone generator because that is its primary purpose. Ozone also attacks and kills mold and mildew.
Ozone Generators vs. Air Cleaners
Unlike a typical air cleaner, which simply addresses airborne particles, an ozone machine or generator actually oxidizes odor causing pollutants as it encounters, whether in the air or residing on surfaces. This includes odors from tobacco smoke, food and beverages, mold and mildew, animals and pets, garbage, remodeling materials and many more odor producing substances. Ozone will penetrate the cell structure of mold and mildew as well.
The OdorFree is an air cleaner that fills an entire space with ozone and oxidizes the pollutants at their source. It eliminates them on contact whether on floors, walls or fabrics or down in cracks, crevices and ductwork. Unlike regular deodorizers or some home air cleaners and sprays, ozone does not leave a long-term fragrance or chemical residue in the facility, which many people find objectionable. Instead, the treated area becomes fresh, clean and free of odors because the source has been eliminated.
We’ve all taken a walk after a thunderstorm and experienced the clean, fresh smell in the air. That's O3, or ozone, at work. Nature creates O3 as a natural cleaner during thunderstorms and also from sunlight striking the earth’s atmosphere. An ozone generator works basically the same way, converting normal oxygen (O2) to ozone (O3). Any unused O3 usually reverts back to O2 in one to two hours. This leaves the air fresh and clean, with no artificial odors, as nature intended. So the space stays free of odors.
Indoor Air Pollutants
Indoor air pollution is among the top five environmental health risks. The best way to address any odor, as well as kill mold and mildew, is not with an air cleaner that filters dust and pollen, but with an ozone generator. It will oxidize pollutants on contact with the all-natural cleansing power of ozone.
