Ozone Generators Treat the Air and Eliminate Odors

Those who have ever shopped for an electronic air machine or ionic air device have done so for good reason -- they want indoor air pollutants removed from their apartments, hotels, homes and places of business.

Most air treatment products are actually air filters that remove particles like dust and pollen by physically trapping them. However, odor problems and offensive smells are the result of gases and the typical air device will do nothing to remove odors. Gases flow right through even the best HEPA filters. Another type of device is the ionic air machine or ionizer, but it is also designed to deal mainly with particles.

So indoor air pollution results from either particles or gases. The best air treatment to eliminate odors and gases is an ozone generator because that is its primary purpose.

Ozone Generators vs. Basic Air Treatment

Unlike typical air treatments, which simply addresses airborne particles, an ozone machine or generator actually oxidizes odor causing pollutants as it encounters, whether in the air or residing on surfaces. This includes odors from tobacco smoke, food and beverages, animals and pets, garbage, remodeling materials and many more odor producing substances.

The OdorFree is a machine that fills an entire space with ozone and oxidizes the pollutants at their source. It eliminates them on contact whether on floors, walls or fabrics or down in cracks, crevices and ductwork. Unlike regular deodorizers or some home methods and sprays, ozone does not leave a long-term fragrance or residue in the facility, which many people find objectionable. Instead, the treated area becomes fresh and free of odors because the source has been eliminated.

We’ve all taken a walk after a thunderstorm and experienced the fresh smell in the air. That's O3, or ozone, at work. O3 is formed during thunderstorms and also from sunlight striking the earth’s atmosphere. An ozone generator works basically the same way, converting normal oxygen (O2) to ozone (O3). Any unused O3 usually reverts back to O2 in one to two hours. This leaves the air fresh with no artificial odors so the space stays free of odors.

Indoor Air Pollutants

Indoor air pollution is among the top five environmental health risks. The best way to address any odor is with an ozone generator. It will oxidize pollutants on contact with the power of ozone.
