Sometimes odors occur with no clear cause or apparent source, making them more difficult to eliminate. It could come from a dead rodent trapped behind a wall, a water leak that is not obvious, a pet spraying, or from the crawl space or other areas. Sometimes ozone shock treatment of the entire facility will take care of the problem. Of not, you need to put on your detective cap to locate the source of the odor. Keep in mind that ozone can permanently eliminate odors only when it comes in direct contact with their source. In thus way, the OdorFree will oxidize and reduce any stubborn smell's.
Always place the OdorFree in the area where the mystery odor is most prominent. If there is a dead mouse or pest behind a wall, it may be hard to locate and remove it. Over time, the carcass normally dries out and the odor goes away. Periodic treatment with ozone during this time will help keep the odor down.
+How to Treat Mystery Odors+
Solution: To eliminate mystery odors, close off the area to be treated and place an OdorFree unit in the area and set the timer. Then vacate the area and run the ozone generator for several hours or longer depending on the severity of the odors. If the odor has not been completely eliminated, repeat the ozone treatment again.
Note: The fan on the thermostat for the air conditioner may be turned to the ON setting to circulate the O3 and remove cigarette odor that has built up inside the ductwork and the air conditioner unit itself. For long term treatment it is recommended that one window be kept open about 2 inches to provide a constant source of oxygen for ozone creation.

Most spaces require longer treatment times, so an OdorFree model with a 12-Hour Timer is more convenient. This model has a variable ozone output control and a 60-Minute Timer that automatically turns the machine off when the treatment is completed. For deeply entrenched odors, there is also a “Hold” setting for treatment longer than 60 minutes until the machine is turned off manually. Complete with plates and filter for long-term use.
